Jenny is a highly experienced Economics teacher, tutor, revision course leader and IB Diploma Economics examiner, with extensive experience supporting students to achieve excellent results at both IB and A-Level.
Her teaching has been recognised as Outstanding during an Ofsted inspection, and her students have consistently achieved excellent examination outcomes. At the International School of Brussels, 40% of Jenny's IB Economics students achieved the highest possible grade of 7, while 70% achieved either a 6 or a 7.
Jenny has taught Economics across a range of programmes, including GCSE, IGCSE, A-Level, Pre-IB and the IB Diploma, with particular expertise in IB DP Economics. Her experience as an IB examiner gives her detailed insight into assessment criteria, mark schemes and the skills examiners are looking for. She helps students develop both their economic understanding and their ability to apply that knowledge effectively in examinations.
Her tuition is highly personalised. Depending on the student's needs, sessions may focus on strengthening subject knowledge, developing diagrams and economic analysis, improving evaluation, structuring higher-mark responses, practising examination technique or preparing effectively for timed assessments. Her aim is not simply to help students learn Economics, but to help them understand how to demonstrate what they know in order to access the highest assessment bands.
Jenny also has extensive experience teaching Economics online to students attending international schools around the world. Having completed specialist training in online teaching and learning, she creates structured and interactive online sessions supported by carefully selected digital resources and, where appropriate, preparation and follow-up activities.
In addition to regular Economics tuition and examination preparation, Jenny can support students with IB Internal Assessment guidance, Extended Essay mentoring, academic skills, personal statement coaching and independent learning strategies, while working within relevant IB academic integrity requirements.
