Lucy's biography

Lucy has been a highly successful teacher in RS and Philosophy at IGCSE/GCSE, A-level and IB for more than ten years. She also has a experience in preparation for and the assessment of, the 10/11+ exams having worked at some of London's most prestigious independent schools - including Whitgift and James Allen's Girls' School.

Her success is based on excellent academic foundations and a personalised approach to each student’s needs, ranging from rebuilding student confidence, through to revision and essay writing skills, to ensuring that ‘sprinkle’ of stardust’ for the 8/9 at GCSE, A/A* at A-level, 6/7 at IB or Oxbridge application.

Lucy knows exam boards’ expectations inside and out, having examined or consulted for AQA Philosophy and OCR RS A-level, the IB and the Edexcel and AQA GCSE exams. Over a decade as a school leader at leading London independent schools also gives her unparalleled insight into the admissions system.

IB Experience

Lucy has examined the Internal Assessed essay component of the IB Philosophy course for over five years and has taught IB Philosophy for seven years as the Head of Department. Results have been excellent at higher and standard level, with 100% of students achieving grades 6-7 during her tenure as Head of Department. Lucy has regularly attended IB training courses and conferences and has built up an excellent bank of resources and exemplar material.
