Isobel has worked with children aiming to attend the following schools:
Isobel studied French with History at Pembroke College, Cambridge. As part of this she spent a year studying History and History of Art at the Ecole Normale Supérieure in Paris. She is now studying for a PhD in humanities.
After graduating, Isobel was part of the Teach First Programme, specialising in Literacy, Languages and Philosophy in a primary school in Croydon. Through using creative, tailored approaches to engage pupils, students in her class made up to three sub-levels progress in the course of a year, achieving or exceeding their required Year 2 SATS grades. Isobel was rated Outstanding during all observations as an NQT (Newly Qualified Teacher).
Since leaving full-time teaching, Isobel has been mentoring and tutoring students of various ages and levels, across the humanities. Alongside this she is doing a PhD at King's College London and the Slade School of Fine Art, UCL. The PhD moves between her own art practice and a predominantly French theoretical frame. She is currently based in Lisbon for research and teaching purposes, but is frequently back in London.
As well as being available for school entrance, Isobel's experience is particularly suited to students looking for support in writing and structuring essays, and with formulating arguments. She is available for online tuition, short periods of home tuition, and residential.
Isobel qualified to teach Other in 2010, and holds a Post Graduate Certificate of Education (PGCE) from Canterbury Christchurch University College.
