Clemmie is a passionate and engaging teacher and has spent the last three years teaching in an Oxford independent school. She obtained a first class BA (Hons) degree in Politics with Psychology from the University of Exeter, and qualified as a teacher from Oxford Brookes University with a distinction.
Clemmie has taught a range of subjects across Key Stage One and Two, including English, Maths, Geography and History. Her passion lies in helping children grow in confidence in their ability, being equipped with tools to help them succeed in areas they may struggle or encouraging them to be ambitious for their furthering academic success. Clemmie particularly enjoys teaching English, with a focus on creative writing using ambitious vocabulary and grammar.
With experience teaching children of all abilities, including children with SEN, and through her wellbeing responsibilities in schools, Clemmie brings a holistic perspective to teaching, understanding the inseparable link between social and emotional needs and academic success. In order for children to thrive in learning, Clemmie knows that tailoring teaching to an individual’s specific needs and interests is crucial. Some of her additional training has included understanding and working with children with dyslexia, ADHD and ASD, so she can offer confident and knowledgeable support to those with SEN.
Clemmie has excellent interpersonal skills, and is a friendly and supporting presence to those she teaches. Her goal is to encourage children to be curious in their learning, using their imagination to find creative ways to solve problems. Her warm, kind manner and relentless dedication to her pupils define her teaching. In her spare time, Clemmie loves to cook (and sample) Asian food, go cold water swimming and spend as much time as she can outdoors.
Clemmie is able to teach in-person in various locations surrounding Oxford.
