Paddy's biography

Paddy studied at Eton College and did a B.A in Modern Languages (French and Spanish) at Jesus College, Oxford. He is a qualified teacher and worked for 12 years at some of the best Prep schools in the UK (Trevor-Roberts London, Junior King's Canterbury and St Hugh's Oxfordshire). He has successfully prepared hundreds of pupils for 11+, 13+ and Scholarship entrance examinations to leading secondary schools. Paddy specialises in English, Mathematics and Reasoning tuition. He also tutors French and Spanish at GCSE level and is passionate about working with neurodiverse children.

Paddy is particularly experienced with Eton College, Harrow, Winchester, St. Paul's, Brighton College, Cheltenham Ladies' College, Tonbridge, Whitgift, Wycombe Abbey and Charterhouse.

Paddy's last job was Deputy Head Academic at Africa's leading IAPS Prep school. He is therefore very experienced in preparing international pupils for interviews and entrance tests. He advises families on school choices to Day and Boarding schools in the UK and worldwide.

Paddy is a naturally calm and empathetic tutor who enjoys developing a rapport with his students. He employs a range of activities to make online lessons fun and stimulating whilst extending the most able and supporting those who need their confidence boosting. Paddy takes a holistic approach to boosting children's confidence, stimulating their curiosity and ensuring they are happy and successful learners.

As Deputy Head Academic Paddy prepared pupils for entry to UK Boarding schools such as Eton College, Harrow and Uppingham. In 2023 he helped 46 Year 8 pupils achieve 24 scholarship offers across a range of Academic, Leadership, Creative and Practical disciplines. He is very experienced at entrance test and interview preparation, as well as providing references and general advice to families.

Having worked for 12 years in London, Oxfordshire and Kent, Paddy successfully prepared hundreds of pupils for standard and scholarship exams in English, Mathematics, Reasoning and Languages, to Boarding and Day schools such as Westminster, Eton College, Harrow, Winchester, Brighton College, Downe House and Wycombe Abbey.

Over the years Paddy has also helped many pupils gain places at international schools in Europe, Asia and Africa.

He has a network of contacts at Admissions departments at top schools in the UK and a thorough understanding of Admissions processes, exam formats and testing procedures as well as scholarship and bursary applications.
