Ruth has taught at some of the top selective independent schools in North London for 23 years, including four years as Lead Teacher of Year 6 teacher at St Albans High School for Girls. She has a wealth of experience in preparation for entrance exams, including English, Verbal and Non verbal reasoning and Maths, specialising in teaching maths concepts, solving contextual problems, developing creative writing skills and preparing for reading comprehension.
Alongside enjoying the academic challenges Ruth has the ability to develop and nurture a pupil's confidence and bring out the best in all students. Her pastoral care is a proven strength over 20 years of teaching experience. All lessons her lessons are interactive and bespoke to each pupil using problems from relevant schools exams to check understanding and progress.
In the most recent set of Entrance exams (2025) Ruth's pupils were able to secure a wide range of offers including: St Pauls Girls School. Alleyn's School, Tiffin's Girls School, City of London Girls, NLCS, Down House school, Reading Blue coat, JAGS, Notting hill and Ealing High School. These pupils had all completed long term preparation for these exams starting mid year 4 or from the start of year 5.
In the 2023-24 academic year Ruth worked with pupils who were successful at JAGS, Godolphin and Latymer, Sydenham High School, Bancrofts, South Hampstead High School and North London Collegiate.
In the 2022 - 23 academic year Ruth has completed long term preparation in maths for pupils to Wycombe Abbey, St Pauls Girls school, Wimbledon High, Godolphin and Latymer and Notting Hill GDST .
In the 2021-22 academic year Ruth has successfully prepared students for City of London Girls, St Pauls, North London Collegiate, St Albans High School for Girls, Haberdasher Girls, JAGS, Godolphin, South Hampstead, Channing, Francis Holland, Queen's College, St Margaret's (including 3 scholarships).
