Milene is an experienced and accomplished primary school educator with over 25 years of dedicated service. She began her career in state sector schools in West and North-West London, preparing students for Key Stage 2 SATs exams and helping several of her students gain scholarships to Queen Elizabeth Boys, Henrietta Barnet and North London Collegiate schools. She took on various management roles including head of year, maths and humanities. She was also a teacher governor and teacher mentor.
In 2009, her husband’s job in the investment banking sector took her and her young family to Singapore and then onto Hong Kong. She taught in a number of highly acclaimed international schools and it was there she was introduced to the IB Primary Years Program. Whilst in Hong Kong she worked extensively as a private tutor- where her clients included members of China’s business elite. She taught English as a second language and also helped students prepare for entrance examinations to highly competitive government schools as well as to UK schools such as Abingdon, Wetherby Prep, Ladies Cheltenham College, Dragon School- amongst others.
In 2018 she and her family moved to Montreal, Canada. While she completed her Masters in Educational Leadership at the prestigious McGill University, she worked as a learning specialist and ethics teacher at one of Canada’s leading private girls’ schools.
Returning home to the UK for good in December 2022, she recently spent the last few months working as a full-time tutor as part of the National Tuition Program supporting students who fell behind academically due to the disruption caused by Covid 19. She ensured her year 1 students passed their phonics screening tests and that her year 6 students passed their SATs tests. From September, she will begin a new teaching post in central London.
Throughout her career Milene has always strived to ensure her students meet or surpass their goals: through continual assessment, careful planning and more importantly, making sure that lessons are fun and engaging. She looks forward to helping your child fulfil their true academic potential.
