Alice is a kind, creative and fun teacher who promotes a love of learning. She encourages curiosity and independent thought.
Alice has eight years of experience as a primary school teacher and has a PGCE and QTS. Before embarking on her teaching career, she gained a degree in Classical Civilisation from Newcastle University. She has worked in Key Stage 1 and 2 and is available to tutor children in any of these year groups. She has supported children in passing their 7 and 11+ entrance exams.
For four years, Alice taught all primary school subjects at an international school in Hong Kong and before that she worked in schools in central London. She has worked with children who are new to learning English and has many strategies to help them achieve and make rapid progress to catch up with their peers.
She enjoys supporting all children and has worked with many students over the years who just need that little bit of extra help. Alice has completed a course which centred on supporting students with autism and is able to help them in the manner and environment that suits them best. She has also worked with many gifted and talented children and has enabled them to reach their full potential. In her last school, she was on the well-being committee and worked hard to encourage a growth mind-set in her students.
Alice loves working with technology and has numerous ways to use it effectively. She is able to create an individual learning plan and support the child in excelling. She has a great deal of experience in teaching and mentoring individual children online and in person and also enjoys working and communicating with the parents.
In her spare time, Alice loves travelling, in particular around Asia. She also likes reading, going to the theatre, yoga and hiking.

Owl Tutors school entrance training
Alice has successfully completed the Owl Tutors training course in 11 Plus exam preparation. This means they have a thorough understanding of the structure, content and demands of these exams and are qualified to prepare students. Training is delivered by Holly, a highly experienced school entrance tutor and member of the Owl Tutors team.

Alice qualified to teach English in 2016, and holds a PGCE Primary 5 -11 from Kingston University.
