Tutor profile - Tommy

Tommy is an accomplished educator and multi-disciplinary creative with a PhD in Applied Linguistics and Education from UCL Institute of Education. With 13 years experience teaching Key Stage 2 in London Primary schools and an MA in Bilingual Learners, he is well-equipped to support the diverse needs of students from a variety of backgrounds on their unique learning journeys. Tommy specialises in teaching the UK National Curriculum with a focus on English Language and Literature informed by his passion for poetry and prose manifest in his published writing as an academic, poet and journalist.

Tommy also possesses CELTA certification and has taught English as a foreign language to mature learners. In addition, he mentors young adults studying at undergraduate and postgraduate level proofreading dissertations and providing feedback as a "critical friend." As a multi-hyphenate artist and educator, Tommy possesses a rare and unique set of skills.
