Holly's biography

Holly is the Deputy Head at an academically selective junior school. Holly read Experimental Psychology at Oxford University, specialising in Primary Maths Education, Child Development and Mood and Anxiety disorders before completing the Teach First programme. Holly started her teaching career in the state sector and spent four years in KS1 preparing children for the national Phonics Check and Year 2 SATS. Subsequently, Holly joined a prep school in South East London as Maths and 11+ Lead. Holly greatly enjoyed this role and gained invaluable experience with the demands and entry requirements of many selective grammar and independent schools.

In 2022, Holly was promoted to Deputy Head Academic and Operations. Holly was responsible for assessment and reporting, curriculum development and transition. In this role, Holly gained further experience prepping assessment materials for exams, reviewing prep school Maths and English curriculum and content, conducting admissions interviews, running assessment days and supporting parents with school applications.

IHolly has experience tutoring pupils in English, Mathematics, Verbal and Non-Verbal Reasoning. She has experience running interview technique workshops and mock interviews for 7+, 11+ and Psychology Oxbridge interviews. All her tutees have gained places at top schools.

Holly particularly enjoys tutoring Maths and has experience supporting pupils with mathematical anxiety and SEND needs. She firmly believes that all children are capable of achieving when supported in the right manner and that confidence and self-belief are the most important tools for children to achieve and succeed.
