That’s why all of our tutors are not only certified educators but have also successfully passed our rigorous assessment process, proving they are truly exceptional teachers!
Our hourly rates start from £70.00 and increase depending on experience and availability. Please see the table below for indicative price ranges for different types and levels of tutoring.

A placement fee of £95 is payable for each tutor that is introduced to you - this will only be charged if a tuition session takes place and will be added to your first invoice.
There are no registration fees. This means that you can meet a tutor without having to pay anything. You will only be invoiced if you engage one of our tutors to deliver tuition after having discussed your requirements with them.

How can I save money when using an Owl Tutor
Consider online tuition if you have not already done so. Most students at KS2 or above will have no problem engaging just as efficiently with an online tutor than a face to face one. Face to face tuition can be up to 50% more expensive for the same tutor!
Consider shorter sessions. Most tuition sessions are one hour. 40 minute sessions can often be effective and could reduce your fees by 33%.
Find out if there are times that you can offer to your tutor that are more convenient for them. Most tutors find it difficult to fill their hours during the day (9am to 3pm) in the week. Many of them will accept lower rates at these times.

Our tutors set the rates that they wish to be paid on each job. The rate that they will request will be dependent on a number of factors including:

Alison's biography
Alison has many years of teaching and examining experience. She is an accredited AQA examiner and is a senior examiner (Team Leader) for AQA English language Paper 1. Her main recent teaching experience has been enabling students to get a good grade in English Language GCSE. She has been very successful in this field. One recent example was with an autistic boy who had not been attending school, Previously he had achieved a Grade 3 in English Language. Under her tuition he achieved a Grade 6.
Alison has also had success in tutoring students to get into grammar and independent schools. The latest student was offered a place at all the schools she had applied for, including a very competitive girls' grammar school. Prior to working as a private tutor Alison was Head of Modern Foreign Languages at an International College, teaching French up to GCSE and Spanish to A level. She returned to teaching after she retired, joining the Government's Catch up programme (The National Tutoring Programme) as an Academic Mentor. She received training from Teach First for this role. She has also undertaken voluntary teaching at both primary and secondary level. One of her great loves is teaching poetry at all levels. The rhythm, sound and meaning all contribute to an enriching learning experience.
Apart from academic work Alison enjoys music and has played the violin and viola in various musical groups. Her other great interest is in art. She recently studied Islamic Art and Architecture at SOAS (School of Oriental and African Studies, University of London) and achieved a Merit in her Masters Degree. She enjoys visiting exhibitions in London whenever time allows.
Alison has tutored a ten year old girl for Bancroft's School, Forest School, Chigwell School and Woodford Girls' School. She is pleased to report that she has been offered a place at all the schools she applied for.
Alison tutored a 10 year old boy for the Forest School Scholarship exam, in which he succeeded.
Alison tutored an autistic boy retaking his GCSE English Language Exam, He had not been attending school at all. She is pleased to report that under my tuition and guidance he achieved a Grade 6.
