With over eight years of experience teaching Mathematics, Tina has taught in leading independent, state, and international schools, including Eton College and Watford Grammar School for Boys, and has supported students across a wide range of ages and abilities, from Key Stage 3 to A Level and beyond.
She has taught across major exam boards including Edexcel, OCR, AQA, and Cambridge International, specialising in GCSE, IGCSE, A-Level Maths (Pure and Applied), and Further Mathematics, including Pure topics such as algebra, functions, trigonometry, calculus, coordinate geometry, and proof; Applied topics including Statistics (probability, hypothesis testing, data analysis) and Mechanics (kinematics, Newton’s laws, and forces); and Further Maths topics such as complex numbers, matrices, differential equations, vectors, and numerical methods. Lessons are tailored to each student’s needs, addressing knowledge gaps and building confidence step by step.
As a former Head of Department, she led curriculum development and assessment design, playing a key role in driving consistently high attainment across cohorts. She is also highly experienced in preparing students for competitive entrance exams and university admissions tests, including STEP and Oxbridge applications, with successful candidates going on to study Pure Mathematics, Engineering, and Computer Science at top universities such as Oxford, Cambridge, Imperial College London, and UCL.
Tina holds First-Class Honours degrees in both Mathematics and Chemistry, and in Education. She is currently completing a Master’s degree in Educational Leadership at UCL’s Institute of Education, a world-leading centre for education and research. She combines deep subject knowledge with a student-centred approach, and is passionate about helping students not only achieve strong academic results but also develop confidence and independent problem-solving skills that will serve them well beyond the classroom.
Tina has experience supporting students preparing for entry into prestigious UK independent schools, including Eton College and Harrow School. She provides targeted support for school entrance exams and interviews, focusing on subject mastery, exam technique, and building students’ confidence in high-pressure scenarios. Her familiarity with the expectations of selective schools helps students approach these demanding processes with clarity and readiness.
Her lessons are tailored to the needs of each student, whether they require support in understanding core concepts, stretching themselves with advanced material, or building effective revision strategies. She creates a positive and engaging learning environment, using clear explanations, practice questions, and regular feedback to help students make tangible progress.
Experienced in both in-person and online teaching, Tina makes full use of digital tools to enhance learning and ensure her students are well prepared for their exams. She is committed to helping every student reach their full potential.
IB Experience
I have extensive experience teaching advanced Mathematics in a range of international and UK settings—including A Level, IGCSE, and STEP preparation—and am confident in my ability to adapt to the demands of the IB. I regularly deliver high-level content, support student-led inquiry, and have guided students in developing their extended thinking and problem-solving skills, all of which align closely with the IB philosophy. I am keen to begin working with IB students and to pursue formal IB training to deepen my subject and curricular knowledge further.
I have supported students in gaining admission to highly competitive UK independent schools, including Eton College and Harrow School, through focused entrance exam preparation and interview coaching. I have also worked extensively with sixth form students applying to top UK universities. I have guided students through successful Oxbridge applications, with many going on to study Pure Mathematics, Engineering, or Computer Science at Oxford, Cambridge, or other G5 institutions including UCL, Imperial College London, and LSE. My approach combines deep subject expertise with strategic preparation for admissions tests and interviews, tailored to the specific demands of each institution.
