Jean

Jean is a highly experienced, effective and motivational Maths teacher and tutor, both in person and online. She has huge experience preparing primary students for 11+ and 13+ in Maths for the competitive and exacting Entrance exams, and also for the GCSE exam. She holds a Degree from the University of Liverpool and a PGCE from the Institute of Education. In addition to working in London, Jean has several years experience teaching overseas in Hong Kong. More recently Jean was a long-serving member of the Senior Leadership Team at one of London’s top Prep Schools which is based in Chelsea, London. Part of this role included advising parents on the most suitable Secondary school for their child, be it a London Day School or Boarding School. Her knowledge base of these schools is extensive and was built up over many years of direct contact with the establishments, having visited many of them over the years.

Jean absolutely loves teaching Maths and aims to unlock students’ attainment and enjoyment of the subject in all her lessons. She has developed her own approach to teaching some of the more abstract and challenging elements. Her lessons are fun, visual and rewarding. Jean believes constructive feedback, consolidation work and topic reviews are essential to progress.
