Explanation: It is important to know the difference in meaning between homophones.

Teaching Ideas: Present your child with pairs of pictures representing homophones (e.g. a pair of shoes and a pear fruit). Ask your child to label the pictures with the correct homophone. You could use pictionary to practise these words. Dictate a sentence with some of the words in context and ask your child to write it down.
