Tutor profile - Susannah

Susannah has a strong academic background, with a PGCE and Masters from the University of Oxford. She has been a teacher since 2008, and has been tutoring individuals and small groups since 2015 in various roles.

I have recently been tutoring students for entrance exams, and conducting practice interviews for Rugby School (Japan), Harrow School (Japan) and Scots College in Sydney, Australia.

Since 2020, Susannah has taught nearly 1000 students online. She has created curriculums and interactive English tuition for students from all over the world. She also offers 1:1 enrichment classes for gifted and talented students. This includes teaching students the Oxford Union debating method, analysing Shakespeare, and introducing them to philosophical concepts such as democracy and equality.

Susannah has taken additional training in supporting students with dyslexia, and with autism. She has also trained in early years Phonics.

Susannah has experience teaching English and English Literature GCSE, English Literature IGCSE, History GCSE as well as reading, writing and Phonics for ages 5+.

Aside from teaching, she is an avid reader and writer. From 2019-2021, she was the Women’s History Network’s Independent Research Fellow and as such received a small grant for her research and writing about Nancy Astor, the first woman MP. She enjoys sharing her love of reading with her students – and she belongs to too many book clubs!
