Josh's biography

Joshua is a qualified teacher and Senior Leader in the UK education system with 6 years of classroom teaching experience, in addition to multiple years of private tuition experience.

Joshua gained an academic and music scholarship to King's College School, Wimbledon, where he gained 45/45 in the IBDP, before studying Philosophy, Politics, and Economics at the University of Oxford, coming top of his year. Since then, he has gained three Masters degrees, including one in Educational Leadership.

Since 2015, Joshua has been teaching in UK schools, having started with Teach First in Manchester. For the last few years, he has been working as a Senior Leader in London schools, teaching Maths and Economics alongside this, and coaching numerous other teachers. In his most recent post he was a Head of College/Vice Principal at a London school. He holds a National Professional Qualification for Headship and is also trained as a Designated Safeguarding Lead.

Joshua has particular experience as a Head of Sixth form, where he specialised in university admissions, having great success in boosting student offers for Oxbridge and Medicine courses in particular, as well as coaching students to access top degree apprenticeships.

IB Experience

Joshua has worked as Head of College at an IB school that does the IBDP and the IBMYP and also teaches Maths and Economics. In this role, Joshua was responsible for all aspects of education for c. 300 students - including academics, safeguarding, behaviour, admissions etc. He was also responsible across the wider school of c. 1000 students for Raising Standards, data, assessment, and reporting, all of which led to in-depth familiarity with the IBDP and MYP.

Joshua has years of experience tutoring a wide range of subjects for the IBDP - Maths, English, History, Philosophy, Politics, Economics, Spanish, French, Russian, TOK, Extended Essay. I have done this on and off since 2013.

Joshua also completed the IBDP myself, gaining a score of 45/45
