Laura is a School Entrance Exam Specialist with extensive experience helping children secure places at prestigious schools, including KCS, Westminster Under, St Paul's, and Highgate, among many others.
As a dedicated and highly skilled private tutor, Laura builds exceptional rapport with her students and their families, fostering a supportive and encouraging learning environment. Her tutoring approach is designed to deliver swift progress and build confidence in her students. With an excellent knowledge base, Laura is passionate about her subjects and strives to inspire her students with her enthusiasm and expertise, helping them develop their own love for learning.
Laura is the founder of Plus Prepared, a business specialising in the creation of realistic and accurate sample exam papers tailored to school entrance exams. These resources have been instrumental in helping students practice effectively and approach their exams with confidence.
Laura is a versatile, dedicated, and enthusiastic qualified primary school teacher. After earning a 2:1 degree in English and Theatre Studies while working for the BBC, she completed her Primary PGCE at Brunel University in 2015. She has taught children across both KS1 and KS2 in the classroom, as well as tutoring successfully for SATs, 7+, 8+, and 11+ school entrance exams.
Laura’s teaching philosophy emphasises making learning exciting and engaging for every student. She is passionate about tailoring her approach to suit each child’s individual goals, needs, interests, and learning styles, encouraging confidence and independence. When preparing students for school entrance exams, Laura utilises a range of practice papers, targeted exam techniques, and strategies to ensure they feel confident and prepared to perform at their best.
With extensive experience working with children from diverse backgrounds and specific learning needs, including autism, ADHD, and EAL, Laura adapts her communication and teaching style to meet the needs of every student. This individualised approach has consistently delivered excellent progress and outcomes.
She finds joy in creating memorable learning experiences and cherishes the “a-ha!” moments when her students overcome challenges and achieve success.
