Sophie qualified as a teacher in 2009 after graduating from St Mary's University College, London. She has 15 years full time experience working across all key stages in the classroom, teaching 3-13 year olds.
In her teaching roles, she has been part of the senior leadership team having responsibility for the attainment and progress of children in her key stage. In addition to this, she has been a senior leader in literacy across the school and has worked externally as a literacy adviser to other schools within the local authority.
Currently, Sophie works part-time in a school supporting learners who are working below the expected standard for their age group.
Sophie has been privately tutoring since January 2010 and has a wealth of knowledge and experience in supporting learners in attaining success at the end of key stage examinations and in entrance exams for first choice schools.
Sophie has experience tutoring students with special educational needs including Autism, Dyslexia and EAL.
Sophie has worked extensively as a Common Entrance tutor and has helped many students to pass entrance exams for top schools in London. Additionally, she is experienced in preparing pupils for top boarding schools. Three of her students were recently accepted to Wycombe Abbey School and four to Cheltenham Ladies College. She has helped many students gain entry (including two with scholarships) to Chigwell School and Bancroft’s School. In the past 10 years, she has had multiple students accepted to City of London Girls and Boys, St Paul’s, Westminster, Dulwich College and Godolphin & Latymer Schools. She is confident preparing students at the 4+, 7+, 8+, 9+, 10+, 11+ and 13+ entry points to schools and is familiar with CEM, GL, ISEB and school-specific examination papers.
