Gil's biography

Gil is a highly experienced maths educator with a wealth of expertise in both state and preparatory schools, specialising in 11+ and 13+ maths education. Holding a Bachelor's degree in Biology and Maths, he broadened his teaching scope to support GCSE maths students, including Higher Tier and Further Maths.

His distinguished track record includes effectively preparing students for the mathematical and NVR components of 11+ and 13+ entrance examinations at renowned institutions such as Alleyn’s, City of London, JAGS, Dulwich College, and Habs. The acclaim from both parents and students results from his exceptional subject knowledge paired with teaching methodologies tailored to each student's unique needs. For the 2023/24 academic year, Gil has assisted a 13+ student in gaining acceptance to Whitgift School and another progressing to the second round of 11+ interviews for Highgate School, which eventually gaining an offer from the school.

Beyond preparing students for school entrance exams, Gil has supported several students in the highly cerebral Primary Maths Challenge, being rewarded with Gold Awards and successfully completing Bonus Rounds. Along this journey, Gil takes pride in meticulously crafting engaging instructional sessions tailored to individual students.

He vigilantly monitors individual progress and delivers personalised feedback to foster academic growth. Actively encouraging proactive inquiry, he instils confidence and nurtures intellectual curiosity and a passion for maths.

Carrying forward this momentum, in 2023/24, Gil remained steadfast in his commitment to guiding students toward success, aiding them in securing admission to esteemed schools such as Dulwich College (13+), Whitgift School (13+), and Highgate School (11+), among others.

Moreover, Gil takes immense pride in the progress achieved by his "foundation paper" students for 13+, who consistently attain remarkable results and secure admission to their preferred schools. Owl Tutors school entrance training

Gil has successfully completed the Owl Tutors training course in 7 Plus exam preparation. This means they have a thorough understanding of the structure, content and demands of these exams and are qualified to prepare students. Training is delivered by Holly, a highly experienced school entrance tutor and member of the Owl Tutors team.
