Nick's biography

Nick has 25 years experience teaching Maths in prep schools, preparing children for Common Entrance exams at both 11+ and 13+, including scholarships, to a large range of independent senior schools. He has been a Head of Department in two large prep schools and been Head of Boarding house for 80+ Year 7 and 8 pupils. He also obtained a MA in Mathematics Education to develop his teaching.

After being approached by ex-prep school pupils, he has worked with them - and, through their recommendations, others in Years 9-11, preparing them for iGCSE / GCSE exams. He has successfully raised confidence and predicted grades, through both online and face-to-face tutoring.

After spending 2 years in France as part of his 2:1 BA (Hons) degree, Nick returned to the UK and went to work in advertisement sales, working for IPC Magazines and Express Newspapers. He had always considered teaching as a career, and so at the age of 30, he took a year out to do his PCGE in Secondary Maths.

He speaks French fluently and has conversational Spanish. He sings in two choirs and acts in a play every summer.
