Richard

Richard has been a fantastic tutor for our son. He has been patient, kind and has found a way to make the sessions interesting and accessible. We have seen a step change in our sons confidence and knowledge with the building blocks of maths and English

Richard has been a very calm and motivating force in our lessons with him. He has managed to gain positive engagement from an otherwise energetic child and we quickly began to see many improvements in his academic abilities as a result.

Richard is really the best teacher I have come across - his patience and understanding and subject knowledge are outstanding. Richard is an incredibly warm, kind and professional, flexible and intelligent tutor.

Richard was a lovely presence in our lives while deciding whether or not to send our child to an Independent School for year 3. He was patient with our daughter, who was initially unfocused, and she really enjoyed talking to him each week. I think he really improved her confidence in a number of areas, and also gave her an appetite for challenges (which previous she’d been intimidated by). Richard helped us to think about which school might suit her, and she was offered a place at the school we chose. Even though we decided not to take the place in the end, the experience of working with Richard was invaluable and her teachers have commented on how her confidence improved. Speaking to Richard also helped me to learn how better to work with my daughter in a constructive way. He routinely offered more of his time than we’d arranged and seemed genuinely invested in my daughter’s progress. I hope to work with him again when we consider the 11+ in a few years!
