Tutor profile - Olivia

Olivia graduated with Distinction, Bachelor of Primary Education from The University of Sydney in 2016. Upon graduation, she moved to London and taught at two of the top competitive independent prep schools. Whilst teaching, she also completed a Masters of Education, Effective Learning and Teaching from UCL (The Institute of Education). Her dissertation focussed on the importance of wellbeing in education. She has experience teaching Years 3-8, but specialises in preparing students for the main entrance examinations: 11+, London Day School exams, CE, scholarship exams and 8-10+. Her approach to tutoring focuses on ensuring the child understands the concepts, rather than just rote learning the answers. She believes tutoring should be a fun, student-centered approach and incorporates elements of mentoring in her sessions.

Outside of tutoring, Olivia enjoys spending her time walking her very adorable Cavapoo, Raffy. She also enjoys playing (and watching!) most sport, and is currently trying to get better at tennis. She loves cooking for her family and friends. Olivia grew up in Sydney, so spent most weekends on Bondi Beach or Palm Beach and loves going to the beach whenever possible - although UK beaches aren't quite the same as Australia!
