eli said on 22nd Jan 2018 a great way of using htem is toi get your kid to mark themself, they have to figure out what they got wrong and find out the right answer and they also get an understanding of what issues there are with papers and tests. especially if you leave it a week or two, by then they have no idea what they wrote and have to try to read theri own writing or figure out their own sums which is hilarious. and all your really looking for on most is the right answer, mostly this is actually within the question with english at least, and many of the maths nad science ones are obvious answers. doesnt seem fair to make a child of 13 do a test if you cant even tell if their answers are correct or not. and beyond that you are only taking away partial marks for lack of clarity either in thought or presentation. since tests are also marked by inexact sciences it would not be hard to create a marking system. jus tlook over it and see if it makes sense, is readable, and is correct factually. that is all a tester is looking for except in a slightly more formal manner.
To back up what we said above, we ask our tutors to write these papers for free to provide a flavour of what is on the 13+ exam papers. These papers are provided for free.
If you would like a mark scheme then we suggest paying for some 13+ papers through Galore Park or looking at a set of school papers that come with one.
