Rosie has worked with children aiming to attend the following schools:
Rosie can prepare students for all components of the entrance exams: Numeracy, Literacy, Verbal and Non-Verbal Reasoning and Interview preparation.
Rosie is an enthusiastic, creative teacher with a primary PGCE and qualified teacher status. Her focus is on building children's confidence and enjoyment of learning in order to help them succeed.
Rosie has been a full-time tutor for 3 years, and specialises in preparation for entrance exams (7+, 8+ and 11+). She has successfully supported students to gain entry to a number of highly competitive schools, including City of London School for Girls, Highgate, Dulwich College and The Latymer School. Rosie has been working closely with Owl Tutors to create resources to support tutors and parents in preparing children for entry to independent and grammar schools.
As well as entrance exam tuition, Rosie also works as a home-school teacher. She has provided home-school tuition for a number of students and is experienced in planning and delivering individualised home-school programmes.
When tutoring a pupil, Rosie believes that forming a strong, positive relationship with them is the first step to achieving success. She endeavours to make her lessons as engaging and creative as possible to ensure children are enthusiastic about their learning. To her, it is vital that children enjoy their learning to ensure long-term success.
Before becoming a tutor, Rosie worked as a class teacher across a range of year groups. Her experience includes teaching phonics, early reading, all subjects across the primary age-range and exam preparation at Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2. In her last post, Rosie was Head of Spanish and was responsible for delivering the Spanish curriculum to all primary year groups.
Rosie is experienced in teaching children who are new to English, children on the ASD spectrum and children with emotional and behavioural difficulties. Having trained through the highly regarded Teach First Leadership Development Programme, Rosie has an excellent understanding of the most current educational research and teaching methods.
Before beginning her teacher training, Rosie studied Environmental Science and International Development, gaining a first-class BSc. Rosie then spent some months volunteering in Honduras before working in Mallorca and France for the summer and winter season. Outside of work Rosie enjoys learning languages and playing music.
Rosie qualified to teach Primary education in 2016, and holds a PGCE from Sheffield Hallam University.

"Rosie has been an exceptional tutor to our now 11yr-old for a number of years. Initially employed simply to stop our child from getting bored and frustrated at undemanding school work, Rosie immediately set about providing stimulating work and tutorials which not only engaged their interests and played to their strengths, but also encouraged them to develop their confidence in areas in which they felt less able. Consequently, Rosie has guided our child successfully through the turtuous and rather alien 11+ process, despite that not being part of the original plan! Prompt, polite, professional and properly inspirational, we feel lucky to have had her as a tutor."
