School entrance experience

Michael has worked with children aiming to attend the following schools:

In both my teaching and tutoring career, I have specialised in preparing children for 11+ and 13+ school entrance. My time as Head of Mathematics at Francis Holland School, Sloane Square allowed me to develop an excellent understanding of the requirements of 11+ selection.

At 11+, clients have targeted St. Paul's Girls' School, City of London and Wycombe Abbey and many have gained places, including an academic scholarship at St. Paul's Girls' School. Numerous places were gained at Latymer Upper, the schools of the London 11+ Consortium (including Godolphin and Latymer, Francis Holland Sloane Square and Regents Park, Notting Hill and Ealing School and South Hampstead). I also had an excellent success rate with JAGS and Wimbledon High School. I've also supported children who need specialised support to access the 11+ curriculum and utilised a range of teaching methods to ensure children master the curriculum.

Targeting 13+ entry, I have supported a number of children who have entered the Common Entrance at Levels 1, 2 and 3. Many of the pupils have achieved very impressive scores, including those above 90% in Level 3 Mathematics last year and more than 50% progress in Level 2 Mathematics in a short time. I've also worked with many potential scholars, gaining places at Canford School, Harrow and King Edward VI School. I am currently working with boys preparing for Eton College's King's Scholarship and Winchester Entrance.
